What is Canthoplasty?

Canthoplasty, also called Cat Eye Lift Surgery or Fox Eye Lift Surgery, is the name of treatment for eyelid surgery that is different from any other types of blepharoplasty procedures.
Unlike other eyelid surgeries, the Cat Fox Eye Surgery does not aim to remove excess skin and fat tissue in the upper and lower eyelids. The main area in Canthoplasty surgery is the tendons of the inner or outer corner of the eye. Typically the main focus of cat-eye lift is on the outer corners of the eyes. This surgery can be performed for therapeutic or cosmetic reasons.

How is Canthoplasty done in Iran?

In this surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision in the eye’s outer corner so that she/he can access the cantal tendon. The cantal tendon is responsible for maintaining your eyelids. By making changes in this part, the tendon is moved and then fixed in the desired location. As a result of changes in the canthal tendon and its displacement by the eyelid surgeon, the shape of the eyes and eyelids change. Normally, fox eye surgery in Iran will take about 1 to 2 hours.
